PDD content areas include:

  • Integration of Building Materials & Systems - The Integration of Building Materials & Systems content area examines the integration of building systems in sizing structural, mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems per project requirements as well as integrating acoustics, communications, fire suppression, conveying systems, lighting, and security, and their detailing and coordination in integration.
  • Construction Documentation - The Construction Documentation content area determines the documentation required for building and site information, details within larger systems, the assembly of a coordinated document set, and how changes affect the process of documentation.
  • Project Manual & Specifications - The Project Manual & Specifications content area identifies the role of the project manual for coordinating specifications with construction documents and examines the particulars of writing and maintaining project manuals and specifications while refining them.
  • Codes & Regulations - The Codes and Regulations content area determines compliance with the International Building Code (IBC) and other regulatory requirements at the detail level.
